FANFARONADE is an exhibition of character design that explores the ideas of showing personality through design choices, as well as popular character sci-fi archetypes and military grandeur via fashion. These three characters are high-ranking officers in a fantasy world, each of them displaying the power of the military differently. Some questions I want to provoke in viewers are: How does this particular character present strength, and how do militaries flaunt their strength? What aspects of their design (body shape, facial expression, and outfit) tell their story? Finally, what archetypes will our society not let go of, and what popular media tropes have been distilled into these characters?
